(Sterling, VA December 18, 2007) - Echo³⁶⁰ (echo360.tv), higher education’s first-choice for letting students relive the classroom experience on demand, announced that Lectopia, a pioneer in lecture capture and delivery, has been given the prestigious Carrick Program Award by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. This award is in recognition of Lectopia’s support of student learning across the Australian university sector, including the University of Western Australia, where the system captures more than 2,400 lectures per month.

The Lectopia project, which was recently acquired by Echo³⁶⁰ (echo360.tv), created a system to capture and publish lectures for on-demand student replay. Such recordings are invaluable for students needing to review classroom material to build comprehension or unable to attend lectures. Lectopia records over 3,000 lectures per week at 20 colleges and universities worldwide.

The Carrick Award recognizes exemplary programs and services making an outstanding contribution to the quality of higher education. These are granted to programs and services where impressive effectiveness has been demonstrated after strenuous evaluation.

Award recipients have a history of setting benchmarks for activities in other institutions. Previous winners have included Australian National University, University of Tasmania, University of Queensland, Deakin University, Curtin University of Technology, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and University of Technology, Sydney.

The Carrick Awards for Services Supporting Student Learning were presented at Parliament House in Canberra, Australia on November 27th.
